New Sprout Farm

Cradled between Mt. Washington and the ocean, this is a beautiful and fertile land where good things grow all year round! New Sprout Farm is an agricultural community based on faith (trust) and tribal (family) values. Several families live together, sharing all things in common. We live together, work together, eat together, dance and celebrate together!

We have a few beautiful vegetable gardens, a variety of fruit trees, chickens, goats and cows. We grow plenty of kale, onions and garlic, as well as many other vegetables. In fruit we have strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries as well as apples. We do not use any chemicals. We are growing naturally!

We sold our produce as well as our delicious Green Bar, which is a protein, energy, healthy snack bar made with Kale from our garden. It really is the best tasting energy and protein bar we have ever tasted... our market customers agree! It was our best selling item last summer.

New Sprout Farm is part of a network of communities around the world called Twelve Tribes Communities. We also have a cafe in Courtenay called Common Ground Cafe. It is open weekdays and features a very peaceful, rustic atmosphere with shanties made of driftwood and old, recycled barn wood. Some of the food is fresh from the farm.

We grow food primarily to feed our community, to supply our cafe, and to sell at local markets. We love going to farmers markets! We are not at the Comox Valley Saturday market because we keep the Sabbath, so Saturday is our day of rest. We have to find other markets during the week to attend. In 2013 we were at the Comox Valley Wednesday market in downtown Courtenay (that was great), the Pier Street Market in Campbell River (what a blast) and we also made appearances in Qualicum Beach and Parksville.

People are welcome to come to the farm to purchase produce and eggs (and Green Bars). Call ahead (250-337-5444). You can visit our website to place orders online (http://www.NewSprout.ca). We look forward to seeing you soon!
